Day 1 — Arrive in Sal

Land in Sal and settle into Santa Maria. Keep the first evening simple with a beach walk, seafood dinner and an easy night after the flight.

Day 2 — Explore Sal

Visit Pedra de Lume, Shark Bay, coastal viewpoints and Santa Maria beach. If you prefer a slower trip, make this your main resort day and save excursions for the morning.

Day 3 — Fly to São Vicente

Fly to São Vicente and base yourself in Mindelo. Spend the evening around the harbor, restaurants and live music. This is where Cape Verde’s cultural personality becomes easier to feel.

Days 4–5 — Santo Antão

Take the ferry to Santo Antão and stay one or two nights if possible. Explore Paul Valley, Ribeira Grande, mountain roads and village viewpoints with a local guide or private driver.

Days 6–7 — Return and slow down

Return to Mindelo or Sal depending on your flights. Use the final day for beach time, food, shopping or a gentle cultural walk instead of trying to add too many transfers.

Frequently asked questions

Is 7 days enough for Cape Verde?

Yes. Seven days is enough for a strong first trip if you keep the route focused and avoid too many islands.

What is the best 7 day Cape Verde route?

A balanced first route is Sal, São Vicente and Santo Antão, combining beach, culture and mountain scenery.

Should I spend all 7 days on one island?

You can, especially for a resort trip, but combining two or three islands gives a much richer Cape Verde experience.

Is island hopping difficult in Cape Verde?

It takes planning because flights and ferries can be limited. Keep the route simple and build in buffer time.
